Overview of Ed and Training Opportunities

Undergraduates

  • Serve as part-time research assistants (8-10 hours/week)

  • Receive guidance and assignments from PI or PI’s designee

  • Attend lab meetings and CHOIR seminars (optional)

Clinical Research Coordinators

  • Serve as full-time research coordinator (40 hours/week)

  • Receive peer guidance  

  • Receive guidance, assignments, mentorship from PI or PI’s designee

  • Attend and present at lab and study meetings

  • Attend CHOIR seminars (optional or as indicated)

Graduate Students

  • Serve as clinicians on clinical trials (~16 hours/week)

  • Attend weekly individual and group supervision

  • Receive guidance, assignments, mentorship from PI or PI’s designee

  • Contribute to data analyses and manuscript writing (optional)

  • Attend lab meetings and CHOIR seminars (optional)

Predoctoral Interns

  • Participate in MGH internship rotations

  • Learn how to deliver manualized interventions by serving as clinicians on CHOIR clinical trials

  • Attend weekly MGH internship seminars

  • Attend weekly individual and group clinical supervisions

  • Receive research and career mentoring

  • Lead and contribute to data collection, data analyses (qualitative and/or quantitative), and manuscript preparation

  • Attend lab and study meetings and CHOIR seminars

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral activities can differ depending on career goals (research or clinical) and funding source (e.g., T32, CHOIR, RCMAR). Below is a list of different training and education opportunities for Fellows:

  • Conduct independent research study (in preparation of grant)

  • Write early career investigator award (K23 from NIH), if aligned with own goals and values.

  • Lead and contribute to data analyses (quantitative, qualitative) and manuscript preparation 

  • Strengthen skills of delivering manualized treatments by serving as clinicians on CHOIR clinical trials

  • Develop project management skills by serving as project manager (science) on CHOIR research studies

  • Attend weekly individual and group clinical supervisions

  • Attend T32, RCMAR, CHOIR, and K23 seminars

  • Receive research and career mentorship (individual and group)\

  • Receive guidance on testing for licensure

  • Attend lab and study meetings

Staff and Faculty

  • Receive research and career mentorship (individual and group)

  • Conduct independent research

  • Contribute to collaborative research

  • Lead and contribute to data analyses, manuscripts, and grants

  • Serve as clinical supervisor

  • Attend lab and study meetings

  • Attend CHOIR seminars
